What You'll Do
In this position, you will promote and foster continued business development opportunities with existing customers while expanding the business base within the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government agencies. You will drive new revenue streams by leveraging SES Space & Defense's core capabilities and identifying new ways to create value for customers. This role focuses specifically on expanding MEO Global Services (MGS) adoption across DoD Combatant Commands, military services, and U.S. Space Force stakeholders. You will work across customer organizations and internal SES Space & Defense teams to develop opportunities, shape market strategies, and support continued growth of MGS capabilities and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and foster continued business development opportunities with existing customers, including U.S. Combatant Commands (AFRICOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM, INDOPACOM, SOUTHCOM, and SPACECOM) and military services (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines).
- Expand and grow the business base by developing new customer relationships, particularly with Space Force leadership, DoD CIO SATCOM, CSCO, and service-level program offices.
- Support the company's short- and long-term strategic plans to meet or exceed revenue and earnings forecasts under the direction of senior leadership.
- Own the accuracy and achievement of bookings forecasts and plans and maintain current and accurate information within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Regularly engage and prospect new and existing customers, executing customer advocacy plans and managing terminal loaner programs to demonstrate MGS capabilities.
- Perform competitive market analysis and monitor competitive activity to identify customer needs, including positioning MGS sovereign MEO connectivity against commercial LEO alternatives.
- Formulate and execute short- and long-range market campaign plans to support achievement of financial objectives and product and service innovation.
- Oversee and monitor Bid and Proposal budgets.
- Assist in planning, designing, and implementing business plans; develop revenue forecasts and analyze customer demand signals; and create capture plans, including multi-path funding strategies for Space Force enterprise program support.
- Manage the terminal productization pipeline across diverse configurations, including land, maritime, and airborne applications, coordinating vendor development agreements, certification workflows, and configuration approvals to scale MGS adoption.
- Work closely with Program Management, Engineering, Product, and other functions within SES Space & Defense to coordinate customer activities and market strategies.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and represent the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Deliver presentations on the company's portfolio of products and services, clearly articulating the MGS value proposition.
- Create and write proposals, responses to U.S. Government Requests for Information (RFIs), and white papers, including demand documentation, cost narratives, and capability gap analyses supporting Congressional appropriations and service funding decisions.
- Represent SES Space & Defense at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and other engagements supporting business development objectives.
Who You Are
You are a customer-focused business development professional who understands how to identify, develop, and advance opportunities within the Department of Defense and broader U.S. Government market. You are comfortable building relationships across Combatant Commands, military services, Space Force organizations, and program offices while navigating government contracting and budgeting processes. You bring enough technical and market knowledge of satellite communications, terminal systems, and MEO/LEO architectures to understand customer mission requirements and effectively position relevant capabilities and services. You combine strong relationship-building and communication skills with the discipline to manage forecasts, develop business and capture plans, monitor market activity, and coordinate effectively across Program Management, Engineering, Product, and other internal organizations.
