What You’ll Do:
Delivers end to end integrated solutions that are network & satellite based, to US Intelligence community customers by focusing on mission success of end-users while meeting/exceeding SES Space and Defense revenue and new business targets. This role is responsible for developing and executing growth strategies focused on national security missions, with the goal of successfully expanding sales, growing the long-term pipeline and winning new business.
Manages a team that grows a pipeline of business opportunities; plans and executes strategic business captures writes competitive proposals; and supports the establishment and stand-up of new contracts/programs. Manages and monitors performance against plan.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end business development and growth across U.S. national security space customers, from early customer engagement and mission shaping through contract award and follow-on expansion
- Develop and maintain relationships necessary to acquire new business and maximize profitable contract revenue over time and manage existing accounts to broaden and deepen the company’s business base. Develop and execute customer intimacy and growth plans for all key customers. Works directly with key stakeholders across intelligence and national security space organizations, including intel end-users, program managers, acquisition officials, technical leaders and industry partners to understand their current/future mission satellite and network requirements.
- Ensure teams forecasting information in sales force is accurate and up to date.
- Creates and manages capture plans and supports proposal efforts in response to Government procurements.
- Develops win strategies for specific business opportunities and assembles winning teams that complement SES GS capabilities and share similar business philosophies.
- Manages a portfolio of client accounts, to include both contracts directly with the US Government and indirect partners and customers supporting US Government end-users.
- Provides BD oversight and BD responses to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
- Meets with US Government end-users and market channel partners regularly to understand their current and future mission satellite requirements as well as anticipate/resolve potential problems
- Provides subject matter expertise to US Government end-users and market channels externally, as well as to SES GS and SES stakeholders internally in the delivery of customer solutions
- Manages and grows a pipeline of business opportunities working with Product and Engineering teams.
- Conducts presentations, demonstrations, and site visits to inform customers of SES GS value proposition.
- Manages subcontractors, consultants, and other team members during capture/proposal effort.
- Supports the establishment and stand-up of new contracts/programs.
- Gathers/disseminates business intelligence for identification of new business opportunities.
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of experience in business development, growth, capture, program management or related roles supporting or serving US national security missions.
- A bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Business, National Security Policy, or related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred)
- Currently possesses and be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Must be located or willing to relocate to the Northern VA or Washington DC area
- Deep understanding of U.S. national security space architecture and mission requirements, including GEOINT,SIGINT, Data Relay and related mission areas
- Ability to create/successfully execute account plans for customers, including identifying current/future customer requirements for LEO, MEO and GEO satellite bandwidth, infrastructure, managed services, threat environment and end-to-end solutions.
- Ability to work with both industry partners and U.S. Government end-users to identify requirements; then develop, shape, and sell applicable SES satellite fleet, end-to-end solutions delivering product and services.
- Ability to provide information/insights regarding near-term, mid-range and long-term opportunities by utilizing a variety of research tools to monitor new business opportunities, notices of procurement actions, contract awards and Requests for Proposals
- Established relationships across intelligence, classified space, and broader national security stakeholders, prime contractors and mission partners
- In-depth knowledge of government acquisition processes, contracting and the national security landscape
- Outstanding written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Strong cross-functional team leadership skills
- Ability to travel at least 30% of the time
This role is hybrid based in our Reston VA or Tampa FL office.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $[MIN] to $[MAX]. The final base salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the position’s location, the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
